A complex, pensive cocktail by Sabrine Dhaliwal inspired by the 1932 film Trouble in Paradise. Dhaliwal imagines that this is the drink the character of Mariette Colet would be drinking as she ponders the whirlwind of events that befall her in the movie.

INGREDIENTS:
1.5 oz (45 ml) Flor de Cana 5-year rum
0.75 oz (22 ml) Sweet Vermouth
0.5 oz (15 ml) Amaretto
2 dashes Bittered Sling Orange & Juniper Bitters
Absinthe

METHOD:
Combine all ingredients (except absinthe) in a mixing glass, add ice and stir for about 10-15 seconds. Rinse an Old Fashioned glass with absinthe. Pour cocktail over fresh ice. Garnish with lemon twist.
